Yet the Lord warned Israel and Judah by every prophet and every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways and keep my commandments and my statutes, in accordance with all the Law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent to you by my servants the prophets” (2 Ki 17:13).
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land (2 Chr 7:14).
Yet if they turn their heart in the land to which they have been carried captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captivity, saying, ‘We have sinned and have acted perversely and wickedly,’ if they repent with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity to which they were carried captive, and pray toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city that you have chosen and the house that I have built for your name, then hear from heaven your dwelling place their prayer and their pleas, and maintain their cause and forgive your people who have sinned against you (2 Chr 6:37-39).
For if you return to the Lord, your brothers and your children will find compassion with their captors and return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him (2 Chr 30:9).
Remember the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the peoples, but if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, though your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there I will gather them and bring them to the place that I have chosen, to make my name dwell there’ (Neh 1:8-9).
Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy (Pr 28:13).
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon (Isaiah 55:7).
Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, faithless Israel, declares the Lord. I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, declares the Lord; I will not be angry forever (Jr 3:12).
But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die (Ez 18:21).
Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? (Ez 18:31).
Take with you words and return to the Lord; say to him, Take away all iniquity; accept what is good, and we will pay with bulls the vows of our lips (Hos 14:2).
Yet even now, declares the Lord, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning (Joel 2:12).
Therefore say to them, Thus declares the Lord of hosts: Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts (Zec 1:3).
In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Mt 3:1-2).
Bear fruit in keeping with repentance (Mt 3:8).
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Mt 4:17).
I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance (Lk 5:32).
And he answered them, Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish (Lk 13:2-3).
Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents (Lk 15:10).
And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out (Acts 3:19).
The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30).
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance (2 Pe 3:9).
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 Jn 1:9).
Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent (Rev 3:19).
